STEVENS POINT, WI — The Boys & Girls Club of Portage County is thrilled to announce its annual YouthForce Job Fair and Career Showcase, taking place on Tuesday, May 7th, from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at the Berard Center in Stevens Point.
This engaging, teen-focused event brings together local employers and young job seekers in an interactive, welcoming environment. Teens will have the opportunity to explore career paths, receive informational materials, and even participate in on-the-spot interviews for summer positions. Employer stations will also offer chances to win prizes, and attendees can enjoy free food, fun activities, and virtual reality job simulations featuring dozens of careers in action.
The Youthforce Job Fair is part of the Club’s Workforce Development initiative, which is generously supported by Associated Bank, Mid-State Technical College, Gamber-Johnson, Sentry, Al Phelps, and Pointe Precision and the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development through the Workforce Innovation Grant.
YouthForce programming serves all ages within the Club. For younger members, this includes career exploration activities, while teens ages 14 and up can take part in the Junior Staff program, offering real employment experience. High schoolers benefit from mentorship, career coaching, and job placement assistance.
In addition to events like the Job Fair, free open office hours are also available to all Portage County teens. These sessions provide help with job applications, resume writing, volunteer opportunities, scholarships, and more.
