Turning paper into something powerful, Prevail Bank’s Community Shred Day in Stevens Point raised $1,190 for CAP Services’ Family Crisis Center, supporting families in need throughout the area.
Prevail Bank pledged to donate $1 for every pound of paper shredded, up to $1,000—and the community rose to the challenge, bringing in 1,500 pounds of documents to be safely destroyed and recycled. True to its pledge, Prevail Bank gifted $1,000; the public donated an additional $190.
A special check presentation was held at Prevail Bank’s Stevens Point branch. Shelter Coordinator for CAP Services Family Crisis Center, Kathy Junion (holding check on far right), accepted the donation from Prevail Bank professionals (L to R) Michele Skare, Eric Kundinger, Dejonna Bates, [Kathy Junion], Dale Sankey, and Raquel Hess.
“This event was a win-win,” said Bates. “We helped people protect their personal information while supporting a cause that makes a real difference right here in our community.”
This year, Prevail Bank’s nine Community Shred Day events collected and shredded nearly 9 tons of paper, resulting in $11,387 in donations to nine nonprofits.
Prevail Bank continues to seek meaningful ways to give back and strengthen the communities it serves. From fundraising events to volunteer efforts, the bank remains committed to making central Wisconsin a better place to live, work, and thrive.
