A collection of student work is on display at the Edna Carlsten Gallery at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point as part of the 2025 Student Juried Show.
Juried by Wisconsin-based artists Brad Killam and Michelle Grabner, the exhibit runs from April 17 to May 3. The community may attend the live jurying and awards reception from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, April. 24. The gallery, located on the second floor of the Noel Fine Arts Center, is free and open to the public. Gallery hours are noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays.
The exhibit includes 43 works from students studying art, graphic design, interior architecture, media studies and professional communication. Select students will be awarded a cash prize for exceptional work.
Grabner is a Guggenheim Fellow and Crown Family Professor at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Killam is a professor at College of DuPage. The pair have collaborated on artwork, curating and publishing since the 1990s. Their collaborative sculpture, film and video works have been installed and screened at numerous venues across the country.
The Edna Carlsten Art Gallery exhibits local, national and international artists, hosts community events and contributes to overseeing and maintaining a unique permanent collection of fine art and design works. Within the Carlsten Gallery is the Schneider Gallery, dedicated to showcasing only student works, both past and present. Both galleries allow experimentation, research, and real-world gallery experience in support of its university students.
